Santiago Canyon Brush Fire Stopped At Under 3 Acres
See a DC10 drop flame retardant as Orange County firefighters battled a small brush fire Sunday in the Santa Ana mountains.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Firefighters made quick work of a brush fire in the Santa Ana mountains, Sunday. Orange County Fire Authority were alerted to the brush fire which started midday Sunday on Williams Canyon Road, near Silverado Ranch.
OCFA and Cleveland National Forest Firefighters raced to he scene, arriving to find two acres burned.
Ten engines and brush fire rig crews battled the blaze, along with an air attack, an OCFA spokesperson reported. Helicopters doused with water from above, but true progress was made when the DC-10 air attack began.

A phos-check drop smothered the flames and halted forward progress, holding the wildland fire to under three acres, OCFA reported.
No structures were destroyed, and no injuries were reported during the incident.
