SJC Ecology Center Pairs With Avana For Tasty Philanthropic Cause

The two OC entities have teamed up to bolster a local program that provides fresh meals to families in need.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — The Ecology Center in San Juan Capistrano unveiled its official partnership with canned cocktail brand Avana on Tuesday.

Avana — a newly launched company founded by recent Chapman University graduates — is donating $0.50 to the Ecology Center's Nourishing Neighbors program for every case of canned beverages bought. The center's program offers weekly meals with fresh produce to families experiencing food insecurity.

Avana said it is the first canned cocktail brand to use USDA-certified organic tequila and is "guided by the belief that we are only healthy when we are all healthy," Brad Ledford, founder of Avana, said in a statement.
