SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA - A San Juan Capistrano boy started with a dream for his own garbage truck and he has built that desire, with the help of friends and family, into a recycling empire. Ryan Hickman continues to make an impact in his community, even at 9-years-old.

Most recently, he has taken recycling to the next level through leading large beach clean-up events and donating his time to two organizations that are near and dear to him, a spokesperson told Patch.

Through is efforts, he has raised thousands of dollars for his favorite Southland non-profit, the Pacific Marine Mammal Center.
