SJC Weighs Using Open Space For Vineyard, Horses, Events: Report

Officials in San Juan Capistrano are considering several proposals to develop a patch off the 5 Freeway.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — A 65.5 acre patch of land beside the 5 Freeway could potentially become an event space, a vineyard or equestrian stables, according to several proposals being reviewed by the San Juan Capistrano City Council.

Seven ideas were submitted to the council, but the options were narrowed down to three, the Orange County Register reported.

One of the nixed proposals would have been Orange County's first man-made wave pool.
