South County Man to Be Arraigned in Sexual Assault of Young Girls

Prosecutors allege a 29-year-old Rancho Santa Margarita man sexually assaulted two children.

Rancho Santa Margarita, CA - Investigators do not believe a 29-year-old man charged with molesting two young girls in Rancho Santa Margarita, has additional victims in the community, authorities said Monday.

Roger Seymour Pena is charged with four counts of lewd acts with a child under 14, three counts of lewd acts on a child 14 or 15, and one count each of aggravated sexual assault of a child with a foreign object and aggravated sexual assault of a child younger than 14. His arraignment, scheduled for Monday morning, was continued to June 20.

A spokeswoman for the district attorney's office would not specify Pena's relationship to his alleged victims in order to protect their identities. However, she did confirm that Pena did not hold any positions that gave him access to children in the community.
