Special CUSD Board Meeting Tonight at 5:00 pm
Board to Give Staff Direction Regarding Contracts with CUEA- CSEA - TEAMSTERS -will there be a strike?

Employees have had 4 consecutive years of across the board compensation increases totaling over $120 million dollars while students continue to go without district funded art, music and science. CUSD class sizes are the largest in the nation and CUSD facilities have not been fixed or maintained in 15 years.
THERE IS NO MONEY FOR INCREASED COMPENSATION UNTIL STUDENTS RECEIVE THEIR CONSTITUTIONALLY MANDATED MINIMUM EDUCATION.
If public employee unions are not happy with that then maybe they should go to Sacramento and ask for the $1.56 billion dollars that the State has stolen from CUSD children.

Every parent and taxpayer must be a strong voice for their own children and their community. Our kids deserve better.
The continued lack of adequate funding and the District's reliance on one time moneys (fundraising and donations) to fund on-going expenses is nothing short of tax on top of tax and it is causing wealth based inequities within CUSD that are unconstitutional.

If employees want to strike. I say let them and lets end the illegal funding of our District once and for all.
The demands of CUSD Bargaining units are unreasonable given the current education CUSD students receive.
Support Trustees in denying ANY new compensation increases for CUSD employees until District funded Art, Music and Science are restored and class sizes are reduced.
Here is what is being negotiated according to CUEA's latest bargaining up-date:

Any member of the Public that would like to speak to the collective bargaining agreement should come to tonights board meeting at 5:00pm.

BARGAINING INFORMATION
"Bargaining Bytes" - May 9 How CUSD Rates In County Adding Employee Health Care Costs
When you look at these "average compensations" you have to also consider the per pupil funding per District.
For example Laguna Beach gets $16,941 per pupil while CUSD gets $9,309 per pupil. Should CUSD be spending the same amount on salaries as a District that is getting almost double the ADA?
