In a historic move to aggressively end cancer, the American Cancer Society and Stand Up to Cancer have joined forces to work together. ACS and SU2C are forming a “Dream Team” to collaborate and accelerate groundbreaking research on the most deadly cancers.
On Friday, Sept. 5, 2014 a star-studded fundraising event will air, commercial- free, simultaneously at 7 pm on ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX and several cable networks along with more than 250 parties to watch the telecast nationwide.
Two of the parties will be held in Orange County. You are invited to join us for Stand up 2 Cancer & Relay for Life of the American Cancer Society’s Partnership Party on Sept. 5 from 7 to 9 pm at the Norman Murray Community Center, 24932 Veterans Way, Mission Viejo, 92691.

For a $25 donation you will receive a Stand Up 2 Cancer T-shirt and Luminaria bag. Register before August 15 to ensure that you will get your t-shirt at the party! Beverages, light refreshments, desserts and snacks will be served.
Children under 13 don’t need to be registered to attend, but they will not receive a t-shirt. If you would like to receive a t-shirt for them, please register them as a regular attendee.

SU2C has brought world-renown, leading scientists and clinicians in different specialties and institutions together to work in labs and hospitals to find cures and get new treatments to patients more quickly. More than 750 researchers from more than 100 institutions have collaborated through SU2C. The ACS has funded 48 Nobel Laureates.
The best thing is money raised will go to support projects funded by SU2C and ACS. Together they are creating a Dream Team whose first, three-year project will be to focus on lung cancer which is the leading killer of men and women in the United States. Both organizations will equally fund the $20 million research.
In one way or another we have all been terrorized by cancer. The only way to find cures, medications, treatments and create awareness is to work together.
