Thai Noodle, We Hardly Knew Ya

The restaurant space near Tannins at Ortega Highway and Rancho Viejo Road really is jinxed.

In the past five years, it’s been a fish restaurant, a Thai restaurant, a German restaurant, and most recently another Thai restaurant.

But after only a month in business, the has closed down.

“I'm sorry to say we ran into big problems with the lease. It's complicated, but to make a long story short, we are closed,” said Rich Montez, the San Clemente man who opened the eatery for his wife, who used to own a sukiyaki restaurant in Bangkok.

“I will be seeking other locations, so we'll see what happens,” Montez said.
