Trash Truck Overturns Two Injured In San Juan Capistrano

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — Traffic was brought to a standstill on Del Obispo Street Friday after a trash truck overturned. The truck struck a pedestrian who was rushed to a hospital, authorites said.

The crash occurred about 9:15 a.m. at the 97000 block of Del Obispo Street, Orange County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Jamiee Blashaw said.

"Both the driver and female pedestrian were taken by ambulance to local hospitals, and are expected to fully recover," Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Tony Bommarito said.

Authorities warned of significant delays for the next several hours as the cause of the crash is investigated.
