War of the Worlds - Playing near you on Halloween.

Originally broadcast from New York City on the CBS Radio Network on October 30, 1938, War of the Worlds, based upon the novel by H. G. Wells, brings you the startling news of a “huge, flaming object” falling to earth on a farm near Grover’s Mill, New Jersey. An anxious radio audience came to the frightening conclusion that Earth was the target of a full-scale invasion by Martians! This special performance will take place ONE NIGHT ONLY on Halloween Night, October 31st! Now, 78 years after the original broadcast, this radio classic comes to life as performed by the Janus Radio Theatre Players. This special staged version of the Orson Welles/Mercury Theater production, War of the Worlds, is one not to miss!

They will also present, The Witch’s Tale, a horror anthology series from 1933 as a special Halloween treat. This episode entitled, Graveyard Mansion, tells the story of two brothers from up north who have inherited their family’s plantation in Louisiana. Upon arrival, they discover that on the plantation is a century-old mansion that locals have dubbed a haunted mansion, “full of ghosts--a house of the living dead.” They laugh off the local warnings as superstition, only to discover an evil far deadlier than mere ghosts.
