What's It Like Living Out of a Motel? Local Students Find Out
A 214-square-foot motel room comes to Stoneybrooke Christian Schools to demonstrate the reality of an estimate 1,000 families in Orange County.
What’s it like living in a motel room? That’s the lesson students at Stoneybrooke Christian School in San Juan Capistrano Friday.
Called 214 Square Feet – after the amount of space in the average motel room – the traveling set is designed to create awareness of the 1,000 or so Orange County families who live in motels, said Project Hope Alliance spokeswoman Kourtney Karpinski.
It “serves as a super powerful interactive/immersive art piece that gives perspective on what it's like to live your life within 214 square feet,” Karpinski said.
