1-Alarm Apartment Fire Reported, 1 Resident Displaced in San Leandro
Firefighters were able to knock down the fire within 10 minutes of arrival.

Firefighters contained a one-alarm fire at an apartment building in San Leandro this morning. Around 8:30 a.m., firefighters responded in the 400 block of Joaquin Ave. for a report of a fire, according to Alameda County fire spokeswoman Aisha Knowles.
When firefighters arrived they saw heavy smoke coming from the front door and windows of an apartment, located in a four-unit building, Knowles said. Firefighters determined no one was inside the apartment at the time of the fire, according to Knowles. Firefighters were able to knock down the fire within 10 minutes of arrival and contained the blaze to the unit where it started, Knowles said.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire, according to Knowles said. A woman who lived in the involved unit was displaced and plans to seek refuge with friends and family, according to Knowles.
