February 12, 2017; San Leandro, California: Once upon a dream, children and adults with developmental disabilities entered a world of glitz and glam were they could feel like the bells of the ball, the prince charming of the evening, and the princess of fairytales.
This year, Stepping Stones and Creekside Community Church hosted their 11th Annual Valentine’s Ball on Friday, February 10th. The ball took place at Creekside Community Church on MacArthur Boulevard in San Leandro and more than 350 individuals with development disabilities attended!
“Attendees arrived in a limo, enjoyed dinner and danced the night away! This event truly embodied all that Valentine’s Day represents and is one of the most memorable days for our attendees each year. We cannot be more thankful for all the love and generosity that goes into this event, as this is what makes it possible for agencies such as ours to continue to serve.” Natasha Fernandez, Deputy Director of Program Services, Stepping Stones.
For 11 years, Stepping Stones and Creekside have cohosted the event benefitting individuals with development disabilities. Over the years the Ball has grown with attendees from all parts of the Bay Area!
Stepping Stones credits the success of the event to community support, and volunteers who serve in various ways. Volunteers provided salon quality hair, makeup and nail services, and donated formal wear for attendees. The event featured a red carpet met by more gracious volunteers who showered the attendees with bubbles and love as they enter the doors of the ball.
