19 Guns Seized In San Leandro In October, November

In the latest case, a toddler was in the car with a man, drugs, and a gun.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — The San Leandro Police Department has recovered 13 guns in the month of October, and 4 so far this month, the department reports in a release. One of the guns seized last month is an assault-rifle.

The most recent gun was seizure was on Sunday. Police arrested Toby Anthony of Oakland, in the area of E.14th Street and Belleview Drive. The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has formally charged Anthony with illegal possession of a firearm and narcotics.

Police conducted a traffic stop on Anthony's car. According the to release, "While speaking with Mr. Anthony, an officer noticed a large amount of unsealed marijuana in plain view and a toddler seated in the vehicle. A loaded firearm was recovered on the rear driver-side floorboard underneath the marijuana during a probable cause search of the car."

The toddler was later released to the care of a family member.
