19-Year-Old Killed In East Bay Crash On I-580
A teenager was killed in a two-vehicle crash just before 7 a.m. Saturday morning in Oakland.

OAKLAND, CA — A 19-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on westbound I-580 east of 14th Street in Oakland shortly before 7 a.m. Saturday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
A preliminary investigation indicated that the man was driving a Toyota Scion over the speed limit and struck the rear of a Ford Escape around 6:45 a.m., according to the CHP.
The Scion spun around toward the right shoulder and hit a cement abutment, the CHP said.

All lanes of I-580 westbound were closed until around 7:10 a.m., according to the CHP.
No one else was injured in the crash, the CHP said.
