Pursuit, Arrest For Suspect Accused Of Running Over 2 San Leandro Police Officers
Both officers were taken to the hospital. One has since been released.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — Police have announced that a suspect has been arrested for allegedly running down two San Leandro Police officers. He is identified as 57-year-old Terry Gordon of Oakland, who was arrested in Oakland shortly after 9 a.m. today after officers spotted his black 1998 Lexus ES 300 sedan, according to police.
Officers tried to stop Gordon but he disobeyed their command to stop and led officers on a short pursuit before crashing into a parked vehicle, at which point he was then taken into custody without incident,
police said.
Gordon's Lexus had damage consistent with Sunday night's incident.

The officers were injured when they were run over by a shoplifting suspect fleeing from Safeway. One was treated and released from the hospital. The other remains hospitalized.
The incident happened Sunday night at around 8:30 the Greenhouse Marketplace on Lewelling Boulevard.

The two SLPD officers had been flagged down regarding the shoplifting. "When Officers attempted to stop the subject, he ran to his vehicle and fled, striking the officers," police report. "The suspect and the vehicle are still outstanding."
The officer still hospitalized suffered non-life threatening injuries. Police announced the injuries to the community late Sunday.
