2016 Davis Street Holiday Basket Program

Davis Street is excited to announce the beginning of our 2016 Holiday Basket Program!

November 8, 2016; San Leandro, California: Davis Street is excited to announce the beginning of our Holiday Basket Program. This year, you can support our holiday basket program in three ways: 1. Host a holiday bin and ask your community members/ staff/ consumers to donate new toys and canned goods (contact Katherine Aguirre, Development Manager at 510-347-4620 ext. 109 to request a bin) 2. Stop by our Davis Street Basic Needs Department (3081 Teagarden Street. San Leandro, CA 94577) and donate new toys or canned goods. 3. Make a monetary donation online at davisstreet.org or send your check to: Davis Street, 3081 Teagarden Street, San Leandro, CA 94577. Even the smallest gift helps us help others during this holiday season. We are extremely grateful for the support of our community over the last 25 years. We couldn’t do it without you!

About Davis Street Holiday Basket Program

For 46 years, Davis Street, in collaboration with the Alameda County Fire Department, San Leandro Police Officers Association, local schools, clubs, faith-based communities, and businesses, has provided food baskets to more than 1,000 families throughout San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Ashland, Cherryland, and Castro Valley. Our Holiday Basket Program provides 1,000 families, including 200 seniors and more than 2,800 children, with a holiday feast, a turkey, fresh produce, seasonal goods, and new toys and gift cards for our children. Thanks to the Bikes for Tykes, many children will also receive a new bike and helmet this year also!

Today, Davis Street is a comprehensive safety net that assist clients to navigate their journey in financial, physical, and mental well-being. Davis Street programs include a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Primary Care Clinic providing medical, dental and behavioral health services; food and clothing; subsidized child care; housing and utility assistance and referrals; and five childcare centers.
