3 Men Shot In San Leandro Gun Battle
Police say the shooting happened Sunday at an indoor marijuana site.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — Three men were shot early Sunday morning in what San Leandro police describe as a shootout between burglary suspects and people tending to an indoor marijuana site.
Police were called at 4:20 a.m. about a burglary in progress on the 2000 block of Adams Ave. They found a security guard and a site manager suffering from gunshot wounds. The manager was struck several times and was listed in critical condition, the guard was listed in stable condition, according to police.
One burglary suspect was also shot and listed in critical condition, police said.

Officers spotted a U-Haul van fleeing the scene refusing to yield to police. A chase into Oakland ensued, during which the driver exited the van to enter a newer model silver Jeep. While switching vehicles, another suspect was caught by police. The van was recovered and collected as evidence.
Officers pursued the Jeep for several more minutes until it stopped and two suspects fled on foot.

A 20-minute foot chase ended near 31st St. and Martin Luther King Way, with the suspects getting away. They were described as "two younger-aged Hispanic males dressed in dark clothing." Police recovered the Jeep.
