• Missing At-Risk 63-Year-Old Last Seen In San Leandro (patch.com) — San Leandro residents are being asked to help locate 63-year-old Andrew Buckley, who walked away from the Heritage Haven assisted living facility Monday morning and has not been seen since. Police say he may frequent Washington Plaza on Washington Avenue and have released a detailed physical description and clothing information, urging anyone with tips to call the San Leandro Police Department immediately.    

• With shutdown looming, The Primary School to cut more than 100 jobs (rwcpulse.com) — San Leandro families and school staff should know that The Primary School’s San Leandro campus is shutting down this summer, with all 25 local jobs being eliminated between June 30 and September 30. Workforce agencies plan to visit San Leandro on May 13 to help affected employees navigate the transition as the broader East Palo Alto-based program winds down.    

• Families visit Rancho Obi-Wan for a different kind of May the 4th experience (fanthatracks.com) — A San Leandro–founded nonprofit, George Mark Children’s House, recently took several bereaved families on a private Star Wars Day tour of Rancho Obi-Wan’s massive memorabilia museum in Petaluma. The visit offered kids and parents a joyful, low-pressure way to remember lost loved ones, build new memories together, and connect with other families through a shared love of Star Wars.
