Some Police Reports Can Now Be Filed On-Line

San Leandro's police department has launched a new online reporting service that allows the public to complete an online form to report non-violent and "cold" complaints or crimes.

Those wishing to file such reports will no longer have to go to the police station or wait on the telephone to file a non-emergency crime report or crime tip.

You can find out more about this reporting service on the San Leandro Police Department website here.

The following description of the service, listed on the police department's website, is reprinted below:

The online reporting system should only be used to report incidents that do not require immediate police attention. This reporting system is not continuously monitored by police personnel. Using this system will allow you to file a police report at your convenience. You will be able to print a temporary report immediately and you will receive a free copy of the report via email once the report has been reviewed and approved.
