Anti Human Trafficking Summit to Be Held in San Leandro Thursday

Experts and legal representatives from throughout the Bay Area will be in attendance.

SAN LEANDRO, CA - County leaders, child welfare advocates, and representatives of education, law enforcement, criminal justice, health, the nonprofit sector, and survivor voices will gather in San Leandro Thursday to be part of a Blue Ribbon Commission formed by the Human Exploitation and Trafficking (H.E.A.T.) Institute.

The meeting will be the last of seven events to take place throughout the state. The Institute is a newly created, research-based think-tank committed to ending all forms of human trafficking in California.

The Commission will focus on regional responses to and the understanding of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children and other victims of human trafficking. The H.E.A.T. Institute will assess strengths, gaps and needs in order to develop a visionary strategy to put an end to human trafficking.
