Assault Rifles, Meth, Cocaine Seized During San Leandro Arrest

Police stopped an Oakland man on probation and discovered the items, along with a loaded handgun.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — San Leandro police arrested an Oakland man on Tuesday for allegedly possessing drugs and firearms.

At about 5:30 p.m., detectives saw 34-year-old Oscar Lopez leave a residence while carrying suspicious items. The detectives conducted a probation stop and searched Lopez, police said.

Detectives allegedly found a large amount of methamphetamine, several baggies of cocaine, a loaded handgun and two assault rifles, police said.

Lopez also allegedly had items consistent with street-level drug sales, police said.

He was arrested and booked into Santa Rita Jail, police said.
