'Auto Burglary Spree' in San Leandro
Police have released a description of the suspect vehicle.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — San Leandro Police are looking for the suspects responsible for an "auto burglary spree" that happened between midnight and 1 a.m. Tuesday. The burglaries happened in three locations in the west part of town.
According to a SLPD release, "A total of 12 vehicles were burglarized and all of them entered by shattering a window. Witnesses to these crimes provided some suspect information to police, describing a newer dark-colored Honda Civic with 'angled' tail lights. The suspect vehicle also had paper plates that read 'Victory.'"

Police also remind residents to reduce your chance of being burglarized by not leaving valuables in plain view. "Remove garage door openers, GPS, GPS dock, cell phone, power cords and change/money in the ashtray," SLPD advises. "In addition, never leave personal identification documents, such as the vehicle ownership title, insurance cards or credit cards in your vehicle."

Also, remember that crooks use apps that search for a Bluetooth signal. Even if your devices are hidden in a glove box or trunk, your vehicle will be targeted.
