It's your shot! Share your photos with Patch and your work could be featured.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — How's this for a hobby: helping butterflies grow in numbers in the East Bay.

M Burnett lives in the Manor District of San Leandro and has shared his garden and butterfly photos in the past. He snapped these photos on July 18.

Burnett tells Patch, "This Anise Swallowtail Butterfly went into chrysalis July 4, 2019 and today emerged! I assist these caterpillars develop into butterflies for educational purposes and to help grow the numbers. They are all set free right away. I believe this one (named FOURTH) is a boy because of his physiology, and here is just getting his wings unfurled. Kitty, of course, wants to know what's going on!!!"
