Have you ever attended a Catholic wedding, funeral, or Mass and wondered what was actually taking place?
Even though I grew up Catholic, it wasn't until later in life that I began to understand many parts of the Mass, including its primary purpose and the meaning behind its prayers, gestures, symbols, and traditions. Learning these things completely changed the way I experience it.
That's why I'm offering a free class at the San Leandro Public Library called "A Friendly Introduction to the Catholic Mass."
The class is intended for anyone who is curious about the Catholic Mass, a form of worship that has been celebrated for nearly 2,000 years, or for those who have attended a Mass and never really understood what was happening.
My goal is simply to explain the Mass in a clear, approachable way—the way I wish it had been explained to me years ago.
Whether you're Catholic, from another faith tradition, or simply curious, you're welcome to attend.
