California Breweries Pour Award-Winning Beers

CALIFORNIA — Whether you love a simple IPA or enjoy tasting complex, barrel-aged stouts - have we got a list for you. The 2018 World Beer Cup was held in Nashville last week and 43 California brews won gold, silver and bronze awards.

The competition was stout (we did that on purpose) with 8,234 beers entered in the competition. A majority of the 295 judges came from outside the United States.

“Beer brings people together,” said Charlie Papazian, founder and past president, Brewers Association, which holds the competition. “The World Beer Cup showcases the breadth of the global brewing community and winning an award symbolizes one of the greatest brewing achievements. Congratulations to all the winners on this remarkable accomplishment.”
