SAN LEANDRO, CA —Walmart is hoping to help customers get 2020 off to a healthier start with low-cost and free health services offered at a Saturday event.

Health and wellness professionals will be on-hand to give inexpensive flu shots and immunizations, and offer health screenings for cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, body mass index and vision, according to a press release from Walmart. There will also be wellness demos and giveaways.

Health officials have warned that this year's flu season began early and has affected larger-than-normal swaths of the population. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that anyone six months or older get a flu shot. Older people can be especially susceptible to the illness.
