Deputies Seize Gun, Arrest Man During San Leandro Traffic Stop

The sheriff's office said the man's vehicle was double parked in an area known for robberies.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — Alameda County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man and seized a handgun in San Leandro, the office announced on Thursday.

According to a social media post, "The driver was doubled parked and impeding traffic in a high crime area known for robberies," in unincorporated San Leandro.

"The passenger was on searchable probation for a firearm offense. This .45 caliber Glock 30 (no record on file) was located next to the driver’s wallet in the vehicle’s center console. The driver, who had a history of firearms offenses dating back to when he was a juvenile, was arrested."

The two deputies who made the arrest, V. Hall and D. Rowe, work out of the Eden Township Division.
