Downtown San Leandro Farmers' Market Back for the Season: Success and Demand Call for Earlier Opening Date
Downtown San Leandro Farmers' Market - Northern California's freshest fruits and vegetables, live music, and fun activities for all ages!

Please join us at the 8th annual Downtown San Leandro Farmers’ Market season opening on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 from 4-8 p.m.! The entire San Leandro community is invited to join in opening day ceremonies with a ribbon cutting at 5 p.m. More than two dozen California farmers and other local food producers are expected to be selling their products on opening day.
Greg Pursley, Pacific Coast Farmers’ Market Association (PCFMA) Regional Market Manager, said, “We are really looking forward to opening the Downtown San Leandro Farmers’ Market early this year. We usually open in May, but thanks to the support of the San Leandro community, the success of this market for our farmers has allowed us to get a quicker start on the season.”
There will be a constantly changing array of seasonal California produce available throughout the year, including earthy asparagus, vibrant citrus, juicy strawberries, and Asian greens. The market will also feature locally-grown flowers, locally-laid organic eggs, and locally-made baked goods and gourmet foods. Along with Northern California’s freshest fruits and vegetables, patrons can enjoy musical performances, cooking demonstrations, Fourth Wednesday Wine Tastings, and much more.
