Dozens Of Gang-Related Guns Seized In The East Bay, Cops Say
Automatic weapons and guns capable of shooting armor-piercing bullets are included in the arsenal. Federal charges are being sought.

EAST BAY AREA — The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Gang Suppression Unit is conducting an on-going operation aimed at drug and gun sales. On Wednesday, detectives seized 25 guns. That's in addition to seven that were seized back in May.
The weapons include "handguns, automatic weapons, Glock auto sears and FN 5.7 mm handguns capable of shooting armor piercing rounds," according to Sgt. Ray Kelly, Public Information Officer for the sheriff's office.
The investigation began in May and involved several local street gang members and their associates. During an initial search warrant operation, detectives seized guns and drugs, and developed information about illegal firearms sales.
