ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — An escaped inmate who walked away from Washington Ridge Conservation Camp in Nevada County early Tuesday was captured Thursday afternoon in Alameda County, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation officials said.

Justin Tyquiengco, 22, was arrested at a San Leandro gas station at 12:15 p.m. by the CDCR's Special Service Unit and Fugitive Apprehension Team agents. Tyquiengco was convicted in Contra Costa County on second-degree robbery with the use of a firearm and had been in the custody of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation since 2015.

Authorities said Tyquiengco will be taken to a California Correctional Center in Susanville, and is no longer eligible to be housed in a conservation camp.
