Pride and Prejudice Auditions January 17 and 18

Auditions for a world premiere adaptation of the novel Pride and Prejudice will be held in San Leandro January 17 and 18 at 7 p.m.

will be holding the auditions and actors will be asked to read from the play's script, not their own monologues.

According to the theatre group's posting on Craig's List,
"This new production will be set in the 1940s against a backdrop of favorite songs from the era. An ability to sing is not necessary, however, some actors may perform WWII era songs during the production. To be considered for a solo, singers should prep a few bars of a song that can be performed a cappella at the audition. There are fantastic roles available for both men and women of all ages. If you (or someone you know) might be a great Darcy - send him our way! Non-AEA. No pay. All ethnicities are encouraged. No appointments are necessary. Please note that the role of Mrs. Bennet has been pre-cast."

The theatre company will begin rehearsals of the play in mid February. There will be about three night-time rehearsals each week.
