Sign-up For April 28 Charity Run Now

in San Leandro is getting the word out that its 10th Annual Every Step Counts 1 Mile Walk/5K and 10K Run benefit will be held April 28 at the .

Mark your calendar now to participate in this important fundraising event for the center. Registration begins that day at 7:30 a.m., the opening ceremony and walk/run event begins at 8:30 a.m.  At 10 a.m. there will be post-race activities and a closing ceremony.

To commemorate its 10th anniversary it is adding a 10K event and this year's race is officially sanctioned by the U.S.A. Track and Field.

The $30 entry fee will include a t-shirt, opportunity for prize drawings a goodie bag and refreshments.

Every person who raises $500 or more will receive a prize from Stepping Stones. Participants will be entered into a drawing once they register.

Medals will also be awarded to the top three run finishers in each age division, male and female.

According to its website, "Stepping Stones Growth Center is a non-profit social services agency founded in 1975 by concerned parents of children with special needs. What first began as an after school program to provide reinforcement and enhancement of social, vocational and living skills has evolved into an agency that provides a continuum of programs and services to more than 400 adults and children with a developmental disability.

The organizaton is funded by the Regional Center of the East Bay, the Department of Rehabilitation, by donations from our many, many generous supporters, and from grants and donations from a number of foundations and corporations."
