Firefighters Rescue Pets In Wednesday's Fire
Firefighters have released a pair of photos from the rescue.
SAN LEANDRO, CA — Alameda County firefighters report that two pets were rescued on Wednesday from a house fire in San Leandro. Needing the help of firefighters was Nina the Pug puppy and Carla the Parrot.
The residents were not at home when the fire started. A neighbor was injured trying to put out the fire with a garden hose before firefighters got there. He was treated at the scene.
The cause of the fire was an unattended candle.
