How San Leandro Ranks: Safest Cities In CA
SafeWise compiled the list by analyzing the most recent 2017 FBI crime statistics and census population data.
SAN LEANDRO, CA — The list of California's Top 50 safest cities has been released by SafeWise, an online safety resource, which analyzed data from California. San Leandro came in at roughly the middle of the pack at 197 out of 482 municipalities in the Golden State.
To compile this report, SafeWise analysts reviewed the most recent 2017 FBI crime statistics and census population data. The evaluation is based on the number of reported violent crimes in each city per 1,000 people. If there was a tie, they also factored in the number of property crimes including burglary, and car theft. Cities that fell below identified population thresholds or failed to submit a complete FBI crime report were excluded from the ranking system.
According to the SafeWise analysis, there are 91,386 residents living in San Leandro, but only 5.73 violent crimes per 1,000 people, and 40.65 property crimes per 1,000 people.
