It's A Wonderful (Friday) Night!

Whet your appetite for an evening of fun by scanning photos from last year's free festival put on by the San Leandro Downtown Association.

The San Leandro Downtown Association is again sponsoring an admission-free event for all ages on Friday, Dec. 2, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Joaquin Plaza between Washington Avenue and E. 14th Street. 

Called "It's A Wonderful Night," the holiday festival will feature carriage rides for $5 per person, Christmas caroling, photos with Santa for $5 each and free face painting.

Entertainment on the stage begins at 5:30 p.m. with a performance by the B'Dazzled Dancers.

Opening ceremonies start at 6 p.m. with Mayor Stephen Cassidy, Chief of Police Sandra Spagnoli and Fire Chief Sheldon Gilbert.

Broadmoor Preschool will sing holiday songs at 6:20 p.m. followed by an appearance of Curtain Call Performing Arts  sharing portions of "A Christmas Carol" at 6:45 p.m.

The Holiday Review begins at 7 p.m. followed by a dance therapy demonstration at 7:30 p.m.

Our Future Tots Preschool takes the stage at 7:35 p.m., the San Leandro High School Dance Team performs at 8 p.m. and there will be a Zumba demonstration at 8:10 p.m.

The San Leandro Downtown Association is an all-volunteer organization composed of business owners and non-profit groups.
