John Muir Middle School Evacuated After Hoax Bomb Threat
Over 1100 students and staff were evacuated Thursday afternoon due to a false threat, according to the school and fire department.
SAN LEANDRO, CA — John Muir Middle School was evacuated at around 1:50 p.m. due to a hoax bomb threat, according to the Alameda County Fire Department. The school was cleared, and students have been released to their families, according to a San Leandro Unified School District spokesperson.
The call came in as students were dismissed from school. 942 students and 242 staff members were evacuated to Cherry Grove Park as a bomb squad arrived.
