SAN LEANDRO, CA — A kitchen fire significantly damaged a home in San Leandro early Sunday morning. Two people and a dog escaped the flames and smoke. There were no injuries, according to the Alameda County Fire Department.
The fire was reported at 4 a.m. on the 15200 block of Central Avenue. Firefighters were able to put out the fire quickly.
"The cause of the fire was accidental," the fire department said in a social media post. "An electric burner was accidentally left in the on position with a food container on top of it."
