Liquor Store Penalized After Investigators Discover Marijuana Behind Counter
The store will not be able to sell liquor while the license is suspended.

OAKLAND, CA: Police posted a 30-day notice of suspension at an East Oakland liquor store last week after investigators allegedly found marijuana behind the counter on two separate occasions. The suspension was posted March 3 at Mews Market, in the 900 block of 105th Avenue.
The store will be unable to sell alcohol during the store's liquor license suspension, according to police. During a six-month investigation, investigators found marijuana behind the sales counter on two separate occasions. The clerk was later determined to be a relative of the owner, police said.
The store's owner may be subject to further penalties from the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. The investigation was funded by a grant from the ABC.
