Man Arrested In Oakland Sunday, Released, Arrested Again

Deputies say after his release he carjacked someone in Dublin, drove to San Ramon and attempted to carjack someone else.

EAST BAY, CA — A man was arrested in a stolen car in Oakland at 7:50 a.m. Sunday, released at 7:23 p.m. then carjacked someone at the Dublin-Pleasanton BART station 37 minutes later, the Alameda County Sheriff's Office said.

Rocky L. Music, 32, drove to San Ramon and attempted another carjacking, but ran and was stopped by a Dublin Police Department K-9, the sheriff's office said.

Music was arrested shortly before 10 p.m. in San Ramon, jail records show. He faces felony charges of carjacking and harming a K-9, plus a misdemeanor charge of obstructing police.

He's due in court Tuesday for his arraignment.

The news comes as county court officials have agreed to release more than 600 low-level offenders at Santa Rita Jail in an attempt to slow the spread of the new coronavirus in the facility.
