Video: Man Pickets Cell Provider Over Plan Gripe

John Rudman says when he didn't use up his minutes, AT&T kept the money left in his pre-paid account. AT&T says that's how such plans work and that Rudman was rude to its staff.

Have you ever been madder than hell and didn't want to take it any more?

In this Patch video John Rudman pickets an AT&T store in San Leandro to air his complaint about losing money when he didn't use up his pre-paid plan.

AT&T spokesman John Britton investigated the matter.

He told Patch that pre-paid plans offer a use-it-or-lose-it package of minutes for people who don't want contracts. Rudman had to have understood that before he bought the plan, Britton said.

In the video Rudman says he was misled about the duration of a contract.

Britton rejects that assertion. Workers at the store told Rudman exactly what he was getting for his money, Britton said.

He added that Rudman was rude and used foul language -- off camera -- in trying to resolve the dispute with AT&T staff.
