New Youth Girl's Softball League Opening in San Leandro

San Leandro girls will now have a sports league of their own. San Leandro Girls Softball registration is now open for spring 2016 season.

We have some great news for the girls in San Leandro. San Leandro now has a girls youth softball league of it’s own. In a city where the diamonds are dominated by the boys, the girls will soon be taking the field.

San Leandro Girls Softball is a youth nonprofit league started by Leo and Michelle Sheridan. Both have coached youth sports in other leagues where their daughter has played and have decided to bring organized girl’s sports to their community. Michelle Sheridan, president of the league says that she loves the tight knit community and wanted the girls of San Leandro to have the same opportunity as the boys. She said after constantly having parents ask why their is not a league for girls in San Leandro that ”Leo and I decided to just do it”.

The Sheridan’s are very active in their community. Besides both coaching youth softball and soccer, Michell is PTO president at her daughter’s school and Leo is Dad’s Club president and a San Leandro School Board Trustee, that is in addition to both having full time careers.
