Oakland Airport Announces $29 Air Fares to Las Vegas

Quick! You have to purchase by July 30. We have all of the details and restrictions.

OAKLAND, CA — Need a cheap getaway? Oakland International Airport announced on Thursday new nonstop flights to Las Vegas on Allegiant. To celebrate, Allegiant is offering one-way fares to Vegas for as low as $29. That price includes taxes and fees.

Here's the big catch: tickets must be purchased by July 30, 2016 for travel by Feb. 14, 2017. The airline says the lowest fares can be found only at Allegiant.com. And one more restriction: the air fare works for debit cards, but there's an $8 service charge to use a credit card

“We’re very excited to offer Bay Area travelers a friendly low-cost option to visit our hometown of Las Vegas,” said Lukas Johnson, Allegiant vice president of network and pricing. “We know folks will enjoy being able to use our convenient, affordable service to get away to the Entertainment Capital of the World.”

The new nonstop flights will operate five times a week between Oakland and McCarran International Airport. Flights begin Oct. 5.

“We are so pleased that Allegiant will soon offer service between Las Vegas and the Bay Area five days per week, which will be its 10th nonstop market here,” said Bryant L. Francis, director of aviation for Oakland International Airport. “This air service addition will contribute to the continuation of passenger growth that the Airport is experiencing. Allegiant, with its innovative travel solutions, is a partner which we hope continues to expand its base of operations at OAK.”

Not familiar with Allegiant? It started with one aircraft and one route more than 15 years ago, and now offers travel in more than 110 markets across the country, more than any other low-cost airline, according to the company.
