Oakland Crash Near Hegenberger Road Leaves 1 Dead
The crash closed several lanes of Highway 880 southbound, police said.
OAKLAND, CA — A collision on Interstate Highway 880 South just south of Hegenberger Road has left one person dead on Tuesday night, a spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol confirmed.
Officers arrived at the scene at approximately 11:12 p.m. and observed a collision involving at least one vehicle. One individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
All lanes were initially shut down and a Sig Alert went out at approximately 11:21 p.m.
Lanes three and four reopened at 11:36 p.m.

Currently lanes one and two remain closed, as of 11:45 p.m.
