One Dead In I-580 Crash Tuesday

SAN LEANDRO, CA — One person died in a crash Tuesday afternoon on eastbound Interstate Highway 580 in San Leandro, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP received a call about the crash at Dutton Avenue, Officer John Fransen said.

The vehicles traveled off the road and one person died as a result of the crash.

The Dutton Avenue off-ramp was closed as a result of the crash and investigation, causing heartburn during the evening commute.

A sig-alert related to the crash was canceled at 5:48 p.m. when all roadways reopened.

The victim's name has not been released.
