Pedestrian Killed By Train in San Leandro
The Capitol Corridor train was heading from San Jose to Sacramento when it hit one person mid-morning Monday.

SAN LEANDRO, CA - A person was struck and killed by a Capitol Corridor train in San Leandro this morning, according to police and Amtrak officials.
Sacramento-bound Train 528 struck the pedestrian at about 10 a.m., Amtrak spokeswoman Vernae Graham said.
The pedestrian was killed and the Alameda County coroner's bureau responded, according to Graham. She could not immediately provide any details about the person or why they were on the tracks.

San Leandro police said the incident prompted the closure of Davis Street between Alvarado Street and Orchard Avenue.
The train got moving again at 12:24 p.m., Graham said. San Leandro police said Davis Street reopened at about that time as well.

There were no injuries to the 54 passengers on board the train, Graham said. The incident also caused delays for San Jose-bound Train 535.
