Bart Train Hits, Kills Person At San Leandro Station
The Bay Fair station was closed for 2 hours Thursday afternoon.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — A person was fatally struck on the train tracks at the Bay Fair BART station in San Leandro Thursday afternoon, resulting in significant delays and the closure of the station.
The incident began at 2:43 p.m. Trains were briefly being turned around before arriving at Bay Fair, but as of 3:09 p.m. they were single-tracking through the station, according to BART spokeswoman Alicia Trost.
The station reopened to normal traffic by 4:30 p.m. Information about the victim, or what led to the fatal train
strike, was not immediately available.
