Police Arrest Suspect in Connection with Racial Graffiti

District employee found racial slurs and symbols spray-painted on office doors Monday morning.

SAN LEANDRO, CA: Police in San Leandro on Wednesday arrested a suspect in connection with spray-painting racial slurs on a San Leandro Unified School District office. Police has not identified the suspect, a 21-year-old man who lives in the neighborhood.

Around 8 a.m. Monday, a San Leandro Unified School District employee found racial slurs and symbols spray-painted on office doors to an annex building at 14735 Juniper St. Police began investigating the crime and narrowed their search to the suspect on Wednesday.

He was located in the 1200 block of Manor Boulevard riding a bicycle that police believe had been recently spray-painted with red and white paint, the same colors used in the graffiti. Police also arrested another man on unrelated counts during the investigation. He has not been identified.
