Power Pole Sheared Off in Crash
A taxi sheared-off the bottom of a power pole, dropping the live wires into trees.

SAN LEANDRO, CA - A taxi driver crashed into a power pole Sunday morning in unincorporated Ashland, causing live wires to fall onto nearby trees, according to Alameda County fire officials.
Fire officials said emergency crews responded to the area of liberty Street and 159th Avenue at 8:54 a.m. on reports of a traffic incident.
Upon arrival, emergency crews found a taxi had struck a pole, causing live wires to fall onto two trees and smolder.

According to fire officials, there were no reported injuries, and the cause of the incident is currently under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
