Drive through San Leandro and you might notice that some neighborhoods are more affluent than others. But just how wide is the disparity between different parts of town?

A new data-based website, Rich Blocks, Poor Blocks provides some answers to that question. The site uses U.S. census information compiled from the 2007-2011 American Community Survey to show median household income and monthly rents by census tract.

The incomes can vary greatly from neighborhood to adjacent neighborhood.

Census tracts that straddle Interstate 880 range in median income from $53,000 to $58,000 a year.

The nearby Marina Park region shows incomes between $70,000 and $76,000.

In southern San Leandro, median incomes range between $43,000 and $54,000.

The neighborhoods along the western side of Interstate 580 range from $52,000 to $81,000 a year.

A census tract in the hills of eastern San Leandro shows an annual income of $92,000.

The range for median household income in California is $53,000 to $68,000 a year.
